After searching for what seemed like forever... I finally found true silk fitted sheets for my daughter's crib. Charmeuse is not a type of silk but rather a type of weave. When silk is manufactured in a charmeuse weave, it gives the fabric a smooth, shiny finish on one side and the reverse (or backside) has a soft matte finish. In a charmeuse weave, the warp threads cross over four of the backing weft threads. This creates a lightweight silk fabric with a beautiful sheen perfect for bedding, robes, and sleepwear.
