We'll compare the quality, feel, features, and pricing of each to help you determine which best fits your needs and budget.
Slip Pillowcase Review
Slip Silk Pillowcase Quality
Slip is well known for being a high-quality brand of silk pillowcase. The reason for this may well be the small army of celebrity influencers Slip employs to spread the word about its products; the website is “who's who” of models, actresses, performers and reality stars (many of whose names begin with the letter “K'). Star factor aside, Slip delivers on the hype with a 22 momme weight pillowcase made of 100 percent pure mulberry silk of Grade 6A, which is the highest quality silk in the market. They've trademarked their material as something called Slipsilk™; this appears to be a distinction used for marketing purposes, as the silk specs are standard. Slip Queen Size Envelope Pillowcases come in white, pink, caramel, charcoal, silver, navy, black, and gold. The Slip website says they are made with non-toxic dyes and that the company “work[s] very closely with our suppliers to ensure that they meet the very stringent international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.” However, the pillowcase itself does not feature the OEKO-TEX® label, which raises some real suspicions about the finished product. Slip pillowcases are machine washable with care instructions found on the website.
Slip Silk Pillowcase Design
For purposes of this review, we are evaluating the Slip envelope closure pillow; it is also available in a zipper closure with more color options. We like the design of the envelope closure as even hidden zipper closures can poke and be uncomfortable during sleep. Our complaint is that the company should have used more fabric; the envelope closure is 6.5” inches which is adequate, but we prefer a larger flap to hold the pillow more securely. Slip also features a small embroidered monogram on the “top” edge of the pillow; it is relatively unobtrusive and not likely to bother anyone during sleep. There were multiple loose threads behind the monogram.
Slip Silk Companion Products
Slip is a social media, beauty, and marketing juggernaut. They offer many companion products to their silk pillowcases, including silk robes, scarves, turbans, scrunchies and something called a “glam band” which is to be used to keep hair off of the face during beauty routines. However, Slip DOES NOT sell silk sheets or other bedding; they don't even carry Standard size pillowcases, only King and Queen. Slip is a beauty and accessory company that relies heavily on endorsements and social media presence to sell their silk products.
The Slip pillowcase comes in a heavy-duty coated cardboard box with lots of fun-to-read marketing messages and benefits on it (but still no details on OEKO-TEX®).

Our recommendation: Mulberry Park Silks
A pure silk pillowcase from Mulberry Park Silks is absolutely a better value choice than Slip. Along with being made from equal quality pure mulberry silk, and being OEKO-TEX® certified, the Mulberry Park Silks pillowcase features a generous envelope closure that is a full 1.5” bigger than Slip's. We are also unsure whether the finished Slip pillowcase is OEKO-TEX® certified as the language around this is obscure, perhaps deliberately so. We cannot see the OEKO-TEX® logo on the Slip website, product, or packaging, which leaves us suspicious.
We also need to address the differences between Slip and Mulberry Park Silks as companies. Slip invests heavily in influencers and social media to sell silk and accessories. There is a strong emphasis on upsell, cross-sell, and identifying yourself on social media channels as a Slip customer. Mulberry Park Silks, on the other hand is a fine linen company that sells pure silk bedding and silk duvet covers in a variety of sizes and styles as well as silk accessories. This is especially important for anyone who is “testing out” silk with a pillowcase and considering upgrading to sheets in the future; with Mulberry Park Silks, you can buy matching sheets, shams and duvet covers from a trusted brand that is expert in BEDDING.
That distinction may help explain the price differential between Slip and Mulberry Park Silks. The use of influencers for virality is a significant investment. We don't see the upside of paying more for a silk pillowcase to subsidize the promotional salary of a reality star. We would rather see those resources toward improvements that benefit the customer, such as lowering the price of the pillowcase or adding more silk to the flap on envelope closure.
A Mulberry Park Silks Queen pillowcase is by far the better value and choice for your money. You don't need to overpay to enjoy the health, beauty, and wellness benefits of the finest quality silk on Earth.

Also note: many satin pillowcases claim to be anti sleep crease and anti frizz. While a satin pillowcase may help with creased skin, it is very different than silk. Satin pillowcases are polyester pillowcases. Read here to learn why you should trust only pure silk next to your delicate facial skin. *Momme count is a unit of weight measurement for silk. A higher momme weight silk pillowcase or silk sheet set will have proportionately more silk in it and the individual silk fibers will be thicker. In this way, momme is similar to thread count for a cotton pillowcase or sheets.
