Our Silk Bedding is Safe for Toddlers

Hypoallergenic: Silk sheets are naturally hypoallergenic and non-irritating to your toddler’s sensitive skin. Remember, silk is a protein-based natural fabric that is made from the protective fibers of the silkworm cocoon. It is the ultimate nurturing environment to give your little one a peaceful night’s rest.

Resistant to mold and dust mites: Silk sheets also resist mold and dust mites, which are common sources of skin irritation and other reactions. Silk toddler and crib bedding provides a cleaner, healthier environment for your child.

Hydrating to delicate skin. Unlike cotton sheets, which are absorbent and pull moisture away from your baby’s skin, silk sheets are hydrating and help skin retain moisture. This is particularly important for babies and toddlers, who tend to suffer from dry that leads to eczema and other irritation.

Breathable and temperature regulating. Silk fabric is breathable, naturally regulates temperature, and wicks away moisture (and we all how babies tend to sweat, especially around the head). This will help keep your toddler comfortable—and hopefully sleeping soundly—all night.

OEKO-TEX® certified as safe. Mulberry Park Silks has taken the additional step of ensuring that all silk we produce—including our baby and toddler bed sheet collection—is Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® Certified. This means that the silk has been independently tested as safe from harmful chemicals and toxins. Learn about OEKO-TEX® certification here.

Silk Bed Linen Promotes Healthy Toddler Hair

While not specifically a safety issue, silk bedding is also wonderful for your baby and toddler’s hair. Just like a silk pillowcase for adults, the smooth, friction free surface of a silk fitted sheet will help minimize baby bald spots and tame toddler frizz and tangles (a major win when you’re trying to comb a toddler’s hair). The soft, hydrating properties of silk toddler and crib bedding also minimize breakage of fine, delicate, and curly hair while promoting new growth. Lastly, the gentle, hydrating properties of silk bed sheets also help minimize the to promote new hair growth.

Mulberry Park Silks Toddler Sheets are Washable

This may be the most exciting news for tired parents of toddlers: our pure silk bed sheets are easy care and can be easily washed right in your machine or by hand. We recommend using an enzyme-free detergent made for silk like Heritage ParkSilk and Wool Detergent. Place the bed sheet in a fine mesh bag to protect it inside the machine and use a gentle cycle. Hang dry away from direct sunlight; don’t put silk sheets in the dryer. Also, never use bleach or fabric softener on silk.
