Sick of waking up drenched in sweat, tossing and turning to find the cool side of the pillow? You’re not alone. Many people struggle with overheating at night, leading to restless sleep and groggy mornings. Mulberry Silk bedding is here to change that. With its natural cooling properties, Mulberry Silk is the ultimate solution for hot sleepers.

The Science of Silk

Natural Temperature Regulation

Unique Silk Structure: Silk fibers, primarily composed of the protein fibroin, have a triangular prism-like structure that enables them to regulate temperature effectively. This structure allows silk to trap air, providing warmth in cooler conditions, while its ability to disperse heat ensures coolness in warmer environments.

Charmeuse Weave: The charmeuse weaving technique enhances this thermoregulation by creating a smooth, reflective surface that reduces friction and helps maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature throughout the night.

Breathability

Air Circulation: Silk's natural breathability allows for optimal air circulation through the fabric. The tight, smooth charmeuse weave enhances this property, preventing heat from getting trapped between the fabric and the skin, which helps in maintaining a cool environment during sleep.

Lightweight Comfort: The lightweight nature of silk, combined with its fine texture, minimizes bulk and further enhances its ability to keep the sleeper cool by allowing heat to dissipate more effectively.

Moisture-Wicking

Efficient Absorption: Silk can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp. The charmeuse weave aids in quickly drawing moisture away from the skin, allowing it to evaporate efficiently and keeping the body dry and cool.

Enhanced Comfort: By wicking away sweat and preventing moisture build-up, silk ensures a comfortable, dry sleeping environment, making it an excellent choice for hot sleepers who need effective moisture management.

What Hot Sleepers Say About Our Silk Bedding

As Seen In

We're honored to have had our pure silk sheets featured in articles from so many wonderful publications.

Verywell Health - Best Sheets for Hot Sleepers, Tested and Reviewed

"For someone who loves silk garments and bedding, the Mulberry Park Silks 22 Momme Silk Sheet Set is the best silk sheet for hot sleepers. Silk tends to be good for skin and hair, as hair follicles can snag on rougher fabrics (which is why people love silk pillowcases). Silk sheets are extremely beneficial if you're trying to retain moisture in your skin and hair length or even aid in hair frizziness.

They were undeniably cool, especially at night—and they warmed up quickly with the body, allowing for a comfortable temperature and uninterrupted rest. We know this set is a little pricier, butthe heavyweight fabric and durabilitymake these sheets worth the higher price point. The threading felt and proved to be high quality. These sheets maintained their softness after a few wash cycles, and the fabric didn't fray at the edges.

This is a question we get a lot as people are 'shopping around'. When purchasing silk bedding, it's essential to pay attention to details like the grade and momme(weight) of the silk. If a company doesn’t clearly state these, it should raise a red flag. The grade of silk indicates its quality, with Grade 6A being the highest, while the momme weight measures the silk’s density and durability. Without this information, you can’t be sure of the quality you’re getting.

At Mulberry Park Silks, we take pride in our transparency. We openly share that we use only Grade 6A Mulberry silk, and we clearly specify the mommeweight of all our products. This way, you know exactly what you’re investing in—luxurious, high-quality silk bedding that meets the highest standards.

Trick question in a way! Satin, essentially, is a styleof weaving that gives a fiber a lustrous finish. This is often also done with cotton to create what is known as a Sateen finish. But typically when someone refers to Satin it is in reference to Polyester Satin. This is typically made from synthetic materials like polyester (aka plastic thread), which can trap heat and feel less breathable. All Natural Mulberry Silk is generally a far better choice for hot sleepers who want a fabric that breathes and wicks away moisture.

Oh, how we all wished silk was the magic cure for night sweats! If only it could change our body chemistry overnight. The truth is, no fabric can completely banish those troublesome night sweats (if only we could invent one, right?). But what silk can do is help you stay cooler and more comfortable while you sleep.

Silk won’t make you hotter, but it also won’t stop your body from doing its thing. What it does do is wick away moisture better than other fabric, which can help you feel drier and more comfortable, even during those midnight PJ changes. Plus, it’s hypoallergenic and oh-so-gentle on your skin, making it an all-around winner!

Fun Fact: Mulberry Park Silks was started because the original owner was going through menopause and after doing some research found out about silk's amazing benefits. Being in the luxury linens industry, she found that the leading brands didn't have much to offer so she set out to bring this incredible bedding to the mainstream luxury market!

But back to the question at hand, no, silk can’t prevent night sweats caused by menopause - pesky hormones! It canhelp you manage them by wicking away moisture and keeping you cooler throughout the night. Its gentle, hypoallergenic nature is also a plus for sensitive skin.
